Abstract
Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas pendekatan metakognitif dalam pembelajaran matematika terhadap kemampuan penalaran siswa kelas VIII MTs Negeri Babadan Baru, Sleman. Penelitian ini adalah eksperimen semu, menggunakan satu kelompok eksperimen dan satu kelompok kontrol. Instrumen untuk mengukur kemampuan penalaran berupa soal tes berbentuk uraian.Uji statistik yang digunakan adalah uji one sample t-test dan independent sample t-test. Berdasarkan uji hipotesis menggunakan taraf signifikansi 0,05 dapat disimpulkan bahwa (1) pendekatan metakognitif dalam pembelajaran matematika efektif terhadap kemampuan penalaran siswa kelas VIII MTs Negeri Babadan Baru, Sleman; (2) pendekatan metakognitif lebih efektif dibandingkan pendekatan konvensional dalam pembelajaran matematika terhadap kemampuan penalaran siswa kelas VIII MTs Negeri Babadan Baru, Sleman.

This study was a quasi experiment, with an experiment group and a control group. The data were collected through reasoning ability test.
