PENGARUH PENGGUNAAN PENDEKATAN SOMATIC AUDITORY VISUAL INTELLECTUAL (SAVI) TERHADAP PEMAHAMAN KONSEP MATERI IPA PADA SISWA KELAS VII EFFECTS OF USING SOMATIC AUDITORY VISUAL INTELLECTUAL (SAVI) APPROACHMENT TO NATURAL SCIENCE SUBJECT CONCEPT COMPREHENTION OF 7TH GRADER

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh penggunaan pendekatan SAVI terhadap pemahaman konsep materi IPA pada siswa kelas VII. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian quasi eksperimen dengan desain non equivalent control group design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII SMPN 2 Yogyakarta terdiri tujuh kelas. Sampel dalam penelitian diambil menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Diperoleh kelas VII A sebagai kelas eksperimen dengan menggunakan pendekatan pembelajaran Somatic Auditory Visual Intellectual (SAVI) dan kelas VII D sebagai kelas kontrol dengan menggunakan pendekatan pembelajaran ekspository. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah instrumen tes dan nontes yaitu lembar keterlaksanaan pembelajaran dan soal pretest-posttest. Teknik analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan uji normalitas, homogenitas, uji-t, dan uji univariate dengan menggunakan program SPSS 18. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan pendekatan Somatic Auditory Visual Intellectual berpengaruh positif dan efeknya sedang terhadap pemahaman konsep siswa kelas VII dibuktikan oleh hasil gain score kelas eksperimen lebih besar dibanding kelas kontrol yaitu sebesar 0,43>0,24 dan uji univariate dengan nilai partial eta squared pada grup sebesar 0,386 yang berarti prosentase pengaruh atau efeknya sebesar 38,6 %.

This research is intended to analyze the influence of SAVI approach to understanding the concept of science material in 7th grader. This research is a quasi experimental research with non equivalent control group design. The population in this research is the 7th grader of SMPN 2 Yogyakarta which has seven classes. The sample in this research is taken by purposive sampling technique. Obtained class VII A as experiment class by using approach of learning Somatic Auditory Visual Intellectual (SAVI) and class VII D as control class by using ekspository learning approach. The research instrument used is learning method and pretest-posttest problem. Data analysis technique in this research using normality test, homogeneity, t-test, and univariate test by using program of SPSS 18. The result of this research show the use of Somatic Auditory Visual Intellectual Problems Problematic approach and the effect is to understand the concept of VII class student evidenced by the result of gain score Average is bigger than control class that is 0,43> 0,24 and univariate test with partial value of eta squares on group equal to 0,386 which mean percentage influence or effect 38,6%.
