MAKNA HIDUP PADA LANSIA DI PANTI WREDA BUDHI DHARMA

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana makna hidup pada lansia di Panti Wredha Budhi Dharma, Yogyakarta. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi, metode pengumpulan data berupa wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Subjek dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 5 orang orang lansia. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa empat dari lima subjek sudah memaknai kehidupan mereka yang ditunjukkan melalui nilai dan tujuan hidup yang mereka kembangkan saat ini, yaitu untuk menghadapi masa tua dengan rasa syukur, berbagi kepada sesama dan memperbanyak ibadah sebagai bekal kelak di akhirat. Mereka percaya rencana Sang Maha Kuasa terhadap dirinya dan berpasrah, serta menjadi pribadi yang nerima. Namun, masih ada satu subjek yang saat ini hanya berharap bisa menikmati kehidupan hari tuanya di panti, ia belum memiliki tujuan hidup yang pasti, dan hanya menjalani kehidupan di panti dengan pasrah karena tidak mampu lagi bekerja dengan maksimal.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find out how the meaning of life in the elderly at the Wredha Budhi Dharma Home, Yogyakarta. This research uses a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach, data collection methods in the form of interviews, observations, and documentation. The subjects in this study were 5 elderly people. The results of this study indicate that four out of five subjects have interpreted their lives as indicated by the values and purpose of life they have developed today, namely to face old age with gratitude, share with others and increase worship as a provision in the afterlife. They believe in the plan of the Almighty towards him and surrender and become an acceptable person. However, there is still one subject that currently only hopes to enjoy his old life at the orphanage, he does not yet have a definite purpose in life, and only lives at the institution with resignation because he is no longer able to work optimally.
