Abstrak

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui gambaran psychological well being (PWB) pada remaja broken home yang  tinggal di Panti Asuhan Aisyiyah. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis fenomenologi. Subjek dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 4 remaja putri. Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan proses wawancara. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan keempat subjek belum menerima perceraian yang terjadi diantara kedua orangtua mereka di masa lalu. Tiga subjek cenderung memandang diri mereka sebagai individu yang lebih banyak memiliki kekurangan daripada kelebihan. Namun disisi lain, keempat subjek merasa puas dengan hubungan sosialnya saat ini. Mereka juga memiliki kemandirian dalam hal mengurus diri mereka sehari-hari. Namun hanya satu subjek yang kurang mampu dalam meregulasi emosi dan perilaku. Keempat subjek memiliki rasa penguasaan dan kompetensi dalam mengelola aktivitas yang kompleks. Selama tinggal di panti, keempat subjek merasa banyak perubahan yang positif dalam diri mereka. Masing-masing dari mereka juga telah memiliki tujuan dan arah dalam hidupnya.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the description of psychological well being (PWB) in broken home adolescents who lived in the Aisyiyah’s Orphanage. This research use qualitative approach with phenomenology’s type. Subjects in this study were 4 girls adolescents. Data is collected by interview process. The results of this study indicate  that all four subjects have not received the divorce that occurred between their parents in the past. Three subjects tend to see themselves as individuals who have more weakness rather than strengths. But on the other hand, all four subjects were satisfied with their current social relations. They also have independence in terms of taking care of themselves everyday. But only one subject is less able to regulate emotions and behavior. All four subjects have a sense of mastery and competence in managing complex activities. During their stay at the orphanage, all four subjects felt many positive changes in themselves. Each of them also have a purpose and direction in their life.
