Keefektifan Pendekatan Kontekstual dengan Strategi REACT Ditinjau dari Kemampuan Pemecahan Masalah Matematis dan Self Efficacy Siswa SMA Kelas X

Abstract


Abstrak

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji keefektifan pendekatan kontekstual dengan strategi REACT ditinjau dari kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis dan self efficacy siswa SMA kelas X. Penelitian ini adalah quasi experimental dengan pretest posttest control group design. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari siswa kelas X  SMA N 4 Yogyakarta yang mempelajari materi rasio trigonometri. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari dua kelas yang dipilih secara acak yaitu kelas X MIPA 3 sebagai kelas eksperimen dengan pendekatan kontekstual REACT dan kelas X MIPA 1 sebagai kelas kontrol dengan pendekatan saintifik. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah instrumen tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis, instrumen angket self efficacy, dan lembar observasi keterlaksanaan pembelajaran. Data dianalisis menggunakan: 1) uji one sample t test digunakan untuk menyelidiki keefektifan pendekatan kontekstual dengan stategi REACT dan pendekatan saintifik terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis dan self efficacy, 2) uji independet sample t test untuk menyeliki manakah yang lebih efektif antara pendekatan kontekstual dengan strategi REACT dan pendekatan saintifik ditinjau dari kemampuan pemecahan masalah dan self efficacy, dan 3) analisis asosiasi, untuk melihat hubungan antara variabel kemampuan pemecahan masalah dan self efficacy,

 Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: 1) pendekatan kontekstual dengan strategi REACT efektif ditinjau kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis dan self efficacy siswa SMA kelas X; 2) pendekatan saintifik efektif ditinjau kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis tetapi tidak efektif ditinjau dari self efficacy siswa SMA kelas X; 3) pendekatan kontektual dengan strategi REACT lebih efektif dibandingkan pendekatan saintifik ditinjau dari kemampuan pemecahan masalah dan self efficacy siswa SMA kelas X; dan 4) hubungan antara variabel kemampuan pemecahan masalah dan self efficacy pada kelas kontekstual REACT berada pada kategori sedang, sedangkan pada kelas saintifik berada pada kategori rendah.

The Effectiveness of Contextual Approach with REACT Strategy Judging from Mathematical Problem Solving Ability and Self Efficacy High School Students Class X

Abstract

This study aims to test the effectiveness of contextual approach with REACT strategy in terms of mathematical problem solving ability and self efficacy of high school students of class X. This research is quasi experimental with pretest posttest control group design. The subjects are students of grade X of SMA N 4 Yogyakarta who studied the material of trigonometric ratio. The research sample selected were class X MIPA 3 as experiment class with REACT contextual approach and class X MIPA 1 as control class with scientific approach. The instruments used are mathematical problem solving test instrument, self efficacy questionnaire, and instructional learning observation sheet. Data were analyzed using: 1) One sample t test used to investigate the effectiveness of contextual approach with REACT strategy and scientific approach to mathematical problem solving and self efficacy; 2) independet sample t test to investigate which is more effective between contextual approach and REACT strategy and scientific approach in terms of problem solving ability and self efficacy, and 3) association analysis, to see the relationship between problem solving and self efficacy.

The result of the research shows that: 1) contextual approach with REACT strategy is effectively reviewed the ability of mathematical problem solving and self efficacy of high school students of class X; 2) an effective scientific approach examined mathematical problem solving ability but not effective from self efficacy of high school student of class X; 3) contextual approach with REACT strategy more effective than scientific approach in terms of problem solving ability and self efficacy of high school student of class X; and 4) correlation between problem solving ability and self efficacy is medium in contextual REACT class and low in saintific class.
