HUBUNGAN GOAL ORIENTATION DAN KEBAHAGIAAN PADA MAHASISWA BARU JURUSAN PSIKOLOGI UNIVERSITAS NEGERI YOGYAKARTA

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui (1) goal orientation, (2) tingkat kebahagiaan, serta hubungan goal orientation dan kebahagiaan pada mahasiswa baru jurusan Psikologi Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta. Jenis penelitian ini adalah ex post facto. Dalam penelitian ini, peneliti menggunakan dua skala psikologis, yaitu Skala Goal Orientation dan Skala Kebahagiaan. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian populasi. Subjek pada penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa baru jurusan Psikologi Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta angkatan 2018 sebanyak 73 orang. Analisis data pada penelitian ini menggunakan uji korelasi koefisien kontingensi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan (1) 79,45% mahasiswa baru jurusan Psikologi Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta memiliki mastery goal orientation, (2) 41,10% mahasiswa baru jurusan Psikologi Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta memiliki tingkat kebahagiaan yang tinggi, dan (3) terdapat hubungan yang lemah antara goal orientation dan kebahagiaan pada mahasiswa baru jurusan Psikologi Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta, dengan nilai koefisien kontingensi 0,348.

Abstract

This study aims to determine (1) the goal orientation, (2) the level of happiness, and (3) the correlation between college freshmen’s goal orientation and happiness in the Department of Psychology at Yogyakarta State University. The type of this study was ex post facto study. This study used two psychological scales: 1) Goal Orientation Scale and 2) Happiness Scale. This study was a population research. The subjects of this study was 73 college freshmen in the Department of Psychology at Yogyakarta State University year of entry 2018. The data in this study was analysed using contingency coefficient correlation test. Based on data analysis, the results of this study indicated that: (1) 79.45% college freshmen in the Department of Psychology at Yogyakarta State University had mastery goal orientation, (2) 41.10% college freshmen in the Department of Psychology at Yogyakarta State University had a high level of happiness, and (3) there was a weak correlation between college freshmen’s goal orientation and happiness in the Department  of Psychology at Yogyakarta State University, with contingency coefficient of, 0.348.
