Abstract

Abstract

This study discusses the learning of cooperative learning models of the Numbered Heads Together (NHT) type of social studies on the learning participation of grade IV students of Ngentakrejo State Elementary School. This type of research is a quasi-experimental research in the form of nonequivalent control group design. The research subjects were grade IV students of Ngentakrejo Public Elementary School. Class IV as a control group (19 students) and class IVB as an experimental group (17 students). Data collection techniques in this study are the scale of activeness, observation, and documentation. This research instrument uses a scale sheet of student learning activeness and observation sheet implementation of the NHT model. Data analysis techniques used descriptive analysis and hypothesis testing using independent sample t-test. The results showed that there was an interaction of the Numbered Heads Together (NHT) learning model with the activeness of social studies learning for fourth grade students of Ngentakrejo Public Elementary School. This is evidenced by the results of the t-test calculation of the activity value after evaluation, namely |tcount| = 3.744> ttable = 2.04 the significance value of 0.001 is smaller than the significance level of 5% (0.001 <0.05). The average value of activeness before group training was 70.69 and after assistance was 81.69. While the average activity results before the control group training was 71.29 and after the assistance was 74.00. Change the mean in the experimental group higher than the control group.
