Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1)mengetahui ada atau tidaknya perbedaan penguasaan materi, pengetahuan prosedural, dan sikap kerjasama antara peserta didik yang mengikuti pembelajaran dengan model direct instruction dan model konvensional, dan (2) mengetahui model pembelajaran yang lebih efektif apabila ditinjau dari penguasaan materi, pengetahuan prosedural, dan sikap kerjasama peserta didik. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen dengan desain control group pre-test-post-test design. Populasi penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Kretek tahun ajaran 2016/2017 sebanyak 125 orang yang terbagi dalam empat kelas. Sampel penelitian ini berjumlah 54 orang yang terbagi menjadi dua kelas. Teknik pengambilan sampel adalah cluster sampling.Instrumen pengumpulan data terdiri dari soal pretest, soal postest, lembar observasi pengetahuan prosedural, dan lembar observasi sikap kerjasama. Teknik pengambilan data adalah dengan tes dan observasi. Analisis data adalah dengan uji manova.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) ada perbedaan yang signifikan pada penguasaan materi, pengetahuan prosedural, dan sikap kerjasama antara peserta didik yang menggunakan model pembelajaran direct instruction dan model konvensional, dan (2) pembelajaran model direct instruction lebih efektif daripada model konvensional apabila ditinjau dari penguasaan materi, pengetahuan prosedural, dan sikap kerjasama peserta didik.

Abstract
The research aimed to: (1) find out the differences at the material mastery, procedural knowledge, and cooperation attitude between the students who use direct instruction model and conventional model, and (2) determine the more effective model between direct instruction model and conventional model by the consideration of material mastery, procedural knowledge, and cooperation attitude of the students.This research was experimental research with the control group pre-test-post-test design. The population of the research were the grade X’s students of SMAN 1 Kretek at 2016/2017 school year with the total number of students 125. The samples of the research were 54 students that distributed in two classes. The sampling technique was cluster sampling. The data collection instruments consisted of pretest and posttest questions, observation sheet for procedural knowledge and observation sheet for cooperation attitude. The data was collected with test and observation. The data was analized with manova test.The result showed that: (1) there is a significant differences at the material mastery, procedural knowledge, and cooperation attitude between the students who use direct instruction model and conventional model, and (2) the direct instruction model was more effective by the consideration of student’s material mastery, procedural knowledge, and cooperation attitude with conventional model.
