THE GERMAN EMPHATIC PARTICLE ‘MAL’ IN THE ‘PÜNKTCHEN UND ANTON’ AND THEIR EQUIVALENT IN INDONESIAN

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe (1) the realisation form the German emphatic particle mal and their equivalent in Indonesian, and (2) the function of German emphatic particle mal. The research is descriptive qualitaive research. The object data on this research is all lingual that contains German emphatic particle mal in the Pünktchen und Anton and their equivalent in Indonesian in the Pünktchen dan Anton. The data were collected through reading and note-taking. The analysize used padan pragmatis method and padan translasional method. The validity of the data was obtained through expert discussion. The results of this research show that the German emphatic particles having equivalent in Indonesian as (1) fatis particle yuk one data, fatis particle ayo one data, fatis particle ya one data, fatis particle dong one data, (2) emphatic particle –kah one data, emphatic particle –lah one data, (3) verb coba six data, verb tolong two data, (4) edverb juga one data, adverb saja four data, adverb kapan-kapan one data, adverb dulu one data, adverb sebaiknya one daa, adverb sering-sering one data, (5) conjunction bahkan two data, (6) and doe not have equivalent (zero) 14 data. (2) The function of German emphatic particle are (1) to convey solicitation, (2) to convey more inveigle, and (3) to convey modesty.
