KEEFEKTIFAN PEMBELAJARAN BRAIN BASED LEARNING DITINJAU DARI KEMAMPUAN PEMAHAMAN KONSEP MATEMATIS SISWA KELAS VII

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji keefektifan pembelajaran Brain Based Learning (BBL) dan pembelajaran saintifik ditinjau dari kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa SMP kelas VII. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen semu dengan desain nonequivalent pretest-posttest control group design. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas VII. Sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 64 siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data adalah tes uraian kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis dan lembar observasi keterlaksanaan pembelajaran. Data yang diperoleh selanjutnya dianalisis menggunakan statistik uji t-test.  Hasil analisis data pada taraf signifikansi 5% menunjukkan bahwa: (1) pembelajaran Brain Based Learning (BBL) dan pembelajaran saintifik efektif ditinjau dari kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa SMP kelas VII; (2) pembelajaran Brain Based Learning (BBL) tidak lebih efektif dibanding dengan pembelajaran saintifik ditinjau dari kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa SMP kelas VII.

Abstract

 

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of Brain Based Learning (BBL) and scientific learning in terms of understanding the mathematical concept of seventh grade students. This type of research was quasi experiment with nonequivalent pretest-posttest control group design. The subject in this research was the student of 7th grade. The sample in this research were 64 students. The instruments used in this research were a  mathematics test to measure student’s conceptual understanding and observation sheet of learning activity. The data analyzed using t-test. The result of data analysis which used the significance level of 5% can be concluded that: (1) a Brain Based Learning (BBL) and scientific learning are effective in terms of mathematical concept understanding of 7th grade students; (2) a Brain Based Learning (BBL) is not more effective significantly in terms of mathematical concept understanding of 7th grade students.
