IMPROVEMENT OF DSLR CAMERA SKILL OPERATIONS WITH DIRECT INSTRUCTION LEARNING MODEL AT LESSONS OF DIGITAL PHOTO COMPOSITION STUDENT CLASS XI MULTIMEDIA SMK NEGERI 1 KLATEN

Abstract


This study aims to find out how to improve the skills of DSLR camera operation on the students of class XI Multimedia (MM) 2 in SMK Negeri 1 Klaten after applied direct instruction model on Digital Photo Composition lesson.
The type of research conducted is a classroom action research using the spiral model Kemmis & Mc Taggart. Research is done in two cycles, each cycle consists of four stages of planning, action, observation, and reflection. Research subjects of students of class XI MM 2 in SMK Negeri 1 Klaten amounted to 36 students. Object of research to improve student DSLR camera operation skill on Digital Photo Composition subjects. Methods of data collection using observation, tests, documentation, and field notes. Methods of data analysis using descriptive quantitative.
The results showed that the average value of DSLR camera operation skills of the students at the first meeting of cycle I was 53,06 and increased to 61,02 at the second meeting. While the average value of DSLR camera student operating skill at the first meeting of cycle II amounted to 73,61 and increased to 81,02 at the second meeting. While the percentage of students who reached the value of KKM in cognitive tests of 86.11% in cycle I and increased to 91.67% in cycle II. Based on the above description, it can be concluded that the use of direct instruction model can improve the operational skills of DSLR cameras of class XI MM 2 students in the subjects of Digital Photo Composition.
