COOPERATIVE LEARNING IMPLEMENTATION: ROTATING TRIO EXCHANGE STRATEGY TO IMPROVE STUDENT'S PARTICIPATION AND ACHIEVEMENT ON LEARNING COMPUTER AND BASIC NETWORK ON SMK N 1 MAGELANG'S X EC

Abstract


This research aims to improve student participation and achievement on learning computer and basic network in SMK Negeri 1 Magelang’s X EC by implementing Rotating Trio Exchange Strategy of cooperative learning. This research belongs to classroom action research that use spiral model by Kemmis and McTaggart conducted in two cycles and each cycle consisting of two meetings. The subjects of this research are 31 students of X EC. The data were collected from observation sheets of student participation, achievement test, and documentation. To analyze the data, quntitative descriptive analysis was employed. The results of this research indicate that the implementation Rotating Trio Exchange Strategy of cooperative learning can improve student’s participation and achievement in SMK Negeri 1 Magelang’s X EC in learning Computer and Basic Network. Increased student participation can be seen from each cycle. The average percentage of student participation in cycle I is 57.69% and it increases in cycle II to 70.38%. The improvement of student achievement is reflected in the increased percentage of student achievement’s mastery. Percentage of the mastery of student achievement during pre-cycle is equal to 29.03%, then increases during cycle I become 53.33%, and keeps increasing in cycle II which becomes 70%.
