Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas pendekatan modifikasi perilaku dengan
teknik hukuman terhadap menurunnya perilaku hiperaktif anak dengan hambatan intelektual kelas III di
SLB Rela Bhakti I Gamping. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan penelitian kuantitatif dengan desain
penelitian ialah Single Subject Research (SSR) dengan metode A-B-A. Metode pengumpulan data
menggunakan metode observasi pencatatan frekuensi kemunculan perilaku. Komponen-komponen yang
dianalisis adalah analisis dalam kondisi dan analisis antar kondisi. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh
menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan modifikasi perilaku dengan teknik hukuman efektif untuk mengurangi
perilaku hiperaktif yang muncul pada anak dengan hambatan intelektual kategori sedang kelas III di SLB
Rela Bhakti I Gamping. Hal tersebut ditunjukkan dengan adanya penurunan frekuensi perilaku pada tiap
aspek perilaku hiperaktif anak pada fase intervensi (B) dan fase baseline II (A’).

Abstract
This research aims to know the effectiveness of the approach to behavior modification with
punishment technique against the decreased hyperactive behavior the behavior of hyperactive children
with intellectual obstacle in class III Rela Bhakti Special School I Gamping. This research used
quantitative research approach with the design research is a Single Subject Research (SSR) with A-B-A.
Method of collecting data used the method of the observation of the recording frequency of occurrence of
behaviours. The results obtained show that behavior modification approach to techniques of effective
punishment to decrease hyperactive behavior that appear in children with intellectual obstacle categories
are class III on the SLB Willingly Bhakti I Limestone. This is indicated by the presence of a decrease in
the frequency of the behavior on each aspect of the behavior of hyperactive children in the intervention
phase, (B) and the baseline phase II (A ').
