Abstract

THE EFFECT OF BACKHAND SHORT SERVICE DRILLING WITH SHADOW BEGINNING AND AUDIO VISUAL MEDIA USE TOWARDS BACKHAND SHORT SERVICE ACCURACY OF PB. PAWIRO WIYONO ATHLETES OF SIDOLUHUR

Abstract This research was aimed to know the effect of backhand short service drilling with shadow beginning and audio visual media use towards backhand short service accuracy of PB. PWS athletes This was an experimental research by a “two groups pre-test post-test design”. The research population were badminton athletes of PB. PWS numbered 30. Sample taking in this research was conducted by a purposive sampling with the following criteria (1) athletes who are active attending drilling in PB. PWS, (20 aged 13-16 years, (3) male, (4) not in sickness, (5) attendance during treatment minimum of 75%, (6) willing to attend all drilling programs composed. Based on that criteria those who qualified numbered 14 people. All samples were treated backhand short service pretest to determine treatment group, ranked its pre-test value, then was paired with A-B-B-A pattern in two groups each 7 people. The instrument used backhand short service skill test from Purnama. Data was analyzed using a t test with significance level of 5%. The research results showed that (1) there was a significant effect of backhand short service drilling with shadow beginning towards backhand short service accuracy of PB. PWS athletes with t count 5.817 > 1 t table 2.447, and significance value 0.001 < 0.05, (2) there was a significant effect of backhand short service drilling and the use of audio visual media towards backhand service accuracy of PB. PWS athletes with t count 9.672 > t table 2.447, and significance value 0.000 < 0.05, (3) drilling with shadow beginning is better than exercise using audio visual media towards backhand short service accuracy of PB. PWS athletes with average posttest difference of 2.57. Keywords: shadow beginning, audio visual, backhand short service
