IMPLEMENTASI PEMBERIAN REWARD KEPADA SISWA SD MUHAMMADIYAH BANTUL KOTA

Abstrak

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pemahaman guru dalam implementasi pemberian reward dan mengungkap faktor pendukung serta kendala dalam pelaksanaan pemberian reward kepada siswa SD Muhammadiyah Bantul Kota. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis deskriptif. Subjek penelitian yaitu kepala sekolah, guru, siswa, dan orangtua. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data menggunakan model Miles dan Huberman yaitu reduksi data, display data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Uji keabsahan data menggunakan teknik triangulasi sumber dan teknik serta melakukan member check. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa guru memiliki pemahaman tentang pemberian reward. Implementasi dilakukan melalui perencanaan dan pelaksanaan. Pelaksanaan pemberian reward dilakukan oleh guru kepada siswa dalam bentuk reward verbal (pujian) dan reward nonverbal (tepuk tangan, senyuman, acungan jempol, alat tulis, bintang prestasi, piagam penghargaan, melakukan kegiatan lain, dan memajang hasil karya). Faktor pendukung berasal dari guru, orangtua, dan respon siswa, sedangkan kendalanya yaitu kekurangcermatan guru, persiapan perlengkapan reward, dan belum adanya pedoman pemberian reward.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe teachers’s understanding in implementation of reward giving, and to show the supporting factors and the difficulties in reward giving implementation to SD Muhammadiyah Bantul Kota’s students. This research used descriptive qualitative approachment. The subject of this research were headmaster, teachers, students, and parents. The data was collected by observation, interview, and documentation. The analysis data used Miles and Huberman’s model, that were data reduction, data display and conclusion drawing. The data validity used triangulation technique and source, and also member check. This research’s results show that the teachers have a knowledge about reward giving. The implementation is hold by planning and implementing process. The implementation of reward giving done by teacher to all students in form verbal reward (compliments) and nonverbal reward (applause, smiles, giving thumbs up, stationery, achievements stars, certificate of achievements, did another activities, and display the students’s creation). The supporting factors come from teachers, parents and students’ responses, therefore the difficulties are teacher’s innaccurates, preparations of reward equipment, the number of students, and there is no reward guide form.
