PENINGKATAN KETERAMPILAN MENULIS KARANGAN DESKRIPSI MENGGUNAKAN MEDIA OBJEK LANGSUNG

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan proses dan keterampilan menulis karangan deskripsi
menggunakan media objek langsung siswa IV SD Negeri 1 Ngerangan. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas
IV yang berjumlah 19 siswa dan objek penelitian adalah keterampilan menulis karangan deskripsi. Desain
penelitian menggunakan model Kemmis dan MC. Taggart. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes,
observasi, dan dokumentasi. Data hasil penelitian ini dianalisis secara deskriptif kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Hasil
penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan media objek langsung dapat meningkatkan proses dan hasil
pembelajaran menulis karangan deskripsi siswa kelas IV. Peningkatan proses pembelajaran menulis karangan
deskripsi terlihat pada keaktifan dan ketertarikan dalam pembelajaran menulis karangan deskripsi. Peningkatan
hasil keterampilan menulis karangan deskripsi pada kondisi awal sebesar 62,95, siklus I menjadi 69,99 dan siklus
II menjadi 76,26. Sebesar 94,74% siswa mendapat nilai ≥70.

Abstract
This research aims at improving the process and the ability in writing descriptive text through the
use of direct objects for students grade IV of SD N 1 Ngerangan.The participants of the study were 19
students of grade IV and the object of the study was the descriptive writing ability. The research design
Kemmis and Mc Taggart model. The data collection techniques used were test, observation, and
documentation. The data obtained during this research were analyzed by descriptive qualitative and
quantitative. The result of the study shows that the use of direct objects can improve the process and the
result of study in the teaching and learning of descriptive writing for students of grade IV. The
improvement on the learning process can be seen through their participation and interest toward the
learning of descriptive writing. The first improvement on the result of students’ descriptive writing is
62.95, increased to 69.99 on the first cycle, and 76.26 on the second cycle. Almost 94,74% student’s
reach ≥70.
