MODEL PEMBELAJARAN MISSOURI MATHEMATIC PROJECT UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN MENYELESAIKAN SOAL CERITA MATEMATIKA

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan menyelesaikan soal cerita matematika siswa kelas II MI Bina Umat Sumberarum melalui model Missouri Mathematic Project (MMP). Penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan kelas (PTK). Tehnik pengumpulan data berupa observasi (pengamatan) dan tes. Tehnik analisis data menggunakan analisis deskriptif kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Peningkatan proses pembelajaran dapat dilihat dari kondisi siswa yang awalnya pasif dan kurang bersemangat nampak lebih aktif dan antusias dalam kegiatan pembelajaran. Hasil Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan model pembelajaran Missouri Mathematic Project dapat meningkatkan kemampuan menyelesaikan soal cerita matematika siswa kelas II MI Bina Umat Sumberarum Moyudan Sleman. Peningkatan kemampuan menyelesaikan soal cerita matematika ditunjukkan oleh hasil tes. Pada prasiklus terdapat 11,11% (1 siswa) dari jumlah 9 siswa yang mencapai nilai minimal. Hasil tes pada siklus I menunjukkan ada 55,55% (5 siswa) dari jumlah siswa mencapai nilai minimal. Pada siklus II terdapat 77,77% (7 siswa) dari jumlah siswa mencapai nilai minimal. Sedangkan nilai rata-rata pada prasiklus sebesar 30,55, pada akhir siklus I nilai rata-rata tes sebesar 63,88, dan pada akhir siklus II nilai rata-rata tes sebesar 72,22.

Abstract

This research aim at improving the ability to solve the mathematics story of grade II students of MI Bina Umat Sumberarum through Missouri Mathematic Project (MMP) learning model. This research was Classroom Action Research (CAR). Data collection techniques used observations and tests, analyzed by using descriptive and quantitative techniques. The results show that the use of the Missouri Mathematic Project learning model can improve the ability to solve the mathematics story of grade II students of MI Bina Umat Sumberarum Moyudan Sleman. The improvement of ability to solve math stories is demonstrated by the test results. In the pracycle there are 11.11% (1 student) from the number of 9 students who reach the minimal value. The test results on the first cycle show there are 55.55% (5 students) of the number of students reach the minimal value. In second cycle there are 77.77% (7 students) of the number of students reach the minimal value. Meanwhile, the average value in Pracycle is 30.55, at the end of first cycle the average value of the test is 63.88, and at the end of the second cycle average test rate is 72.22.
