Abstrak

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kualitas proses pembelajaran dan hasil keterampilan membaca permulaan melalui penerapan metode membaca terbimbing pada siswa kelas I SD Negeri Baciro. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (classroom action research) dengan model Kemmis dan Mc. Taggart. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas I SD Negeri Baciro yang berjumlah 21 siswa. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes unjuk kerja dan catatan lapangan. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan yaitu deskriptif kuantitatif dan deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan metode membaca terbimbing dapat meningkatkan kualitas proses pembelajaran dan keterampilan membaca permulaan siswa. Peningkatan proses dibuktikan dengan meningkatnya keakftifan dan fokus siswa selama pembelajaran. Peningkatan hasil dibuktikan dengan peningkatan nilai rata-rata kelas dari siklus I sebesar 66,17 meningkat menjadi 75,71 pada siklus II. Pencapaian ketuntasan siswa dalam membaca permulaan juga meningkat yaitu 47,62% pada siklus I meningkat menjadi 95,24%.

Abstract

This research aims of improving the quality of the learning process and the early reading skill using guided reading method for the 1st grade students of SD Negeri Baciro. This research was a classroom action research based on Kemmis and Mc. Taggart model. The subject of this research were 1st grade students of SD Negeri Baciro which consisted of 21 students. The data were collected by performance test and field notes. The data were analyzed by quantitative descriptive and qualitative descriptive. The result of this research showed that the guided reading method could improve the quality of students learning process and the students reading skill. The process improvement proved by increased student participation and focus during the learning process. The student reading skill improvement proved by increased mean, 66,17 in the cycle I to 75,71 in the cycle II. The percentages of students who have passed the reading performance test also increased 47,62% in the cycle I to 95,24 in the cycle II.
