Abstrak

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan proses dan keterampilan membaca pemahaman melalui metode SQ3R. Jenis penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) menggunakan model Kemmis dan Mc Taggart. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IVB SD Negeri Tegalpanggung yang berjumlah 21 siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi dan tes. Instrumen pengumpulan data menggunakan lembar observasi dan soal tes isian singkat dan uraian. Teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis deskriptif kuantitatif dan deskripsi kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan proses pembelajaran melalui metode SQ3R mengalami peningkatan. Peningkatan tersebut ditunjukkan dengan siswa aktif dan antusias mengikuti pembelajaran membaca pemahaman. Siswa dapat menyebutkan fakta, definisi, dan konsep bacaan, menjelaskan makna tersurat dan tersirat, menjelaskan arti kata (istilah), menentukan ide pokok, dan menunjukkan contoh penerapan konsep, pengertian, atau pandangan. Peningkatan hasil pembelajaran membaca dapat dilihat dari nilai rata-rata tes membaca pemahaman pada siklus I sebesar 68,57, pada siklus II sebesar 77,62 sehingga mengalami peningkatan sebesar 9,05.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the learning process of reading comprehension skills through SQ3R method and to improve the results of the learning process of reading comprehension skills through SQ3R method. This type of research was a classroom action research, with Kemmis and Mc Taggart models. The subjects of this study were 4th B grade students at SD Negeri Tegalpanggung, which amounted to 21 students. The method used in collecting data were observation and test. The research istruments used were observation sheet, short answer questions and essay. Data analysis techniques used in this research were descriptive analysis of quantitative dan descriptive qualitative. The results of this study showed that the use of SQ3R method can improve student’s reading comprehension skills. The improvement process showed that students become more active and enthusiastic into the learning process of reading comprehension. Students can already mentioned the facts, definition, and concept of reading, explained the explicit meaning and implist meaning, explained the term, determined the main ideas, and showed examples of the application of concept, interpretation, and opinion. Improvement can be seen from the mean value of student’s reading comprehension skills on cycle I, which is 68,57 and become 77,62 in cycle 1 , so it is increased by 9,05.
