UPAYA PENINGKATAN PEMAHAMAN PPKN SISWA MENGGUNAKAN METODE MIND MAP PADA SISWA KELAS III SD N NGESONG

Abstrak

Penelitian  ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan pemahaman PPKn menggunakan metode mind map dan mengetahui hasil penerapan metode mind map pada siswa kelas III SD N Ngesong. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas. Subyek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas III SD N Ngesong yang berjumlah 15 siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes,  observasi dan wawancara. Instrument penelitian menggunakan soal tes dan lembar observasi. Teknik analisis data menggunakan deskriptif kuantitatif dan deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan metode mind map dapat meningkatkan pemahaman PPKn siswa. Hal ini ditunjukkan dengan kondisi pratindakan, siswa tuntas belajar berjumlah 26,7% dan belum tuntas  KKM 75 sebanyak 73.3%. Setelah dilakukan tindakan siklus I dan II terjadi peningkatan pada pemahaman siswa. Pada siklus I sebanyak 40% tuntas belajar. Kemudian pada siklus II menunjukkan sebanyak 80% tuntas belajar. Adapun hasil observasi dalam proses pembelajaran juga menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman siswa yaitu pada siklus I 72% meningkat pada siklus II 86%.

Abstract

The research was conducted in order to recognize the improvement of the third grade students' understanding in  the subject of civic education by applying mind map method and in order to find out the result of the method toward the third grade students of SD N Ngesong. This research was a class action research. The subject of the research was third grade students of SD N Ngesong Girimulyo that were consist of  15 students. The data collection technique utilized written test, field observation, and interview. The research instrument utilized written test questions, and observation sheet. The data analesys technique utilized quantitative descriptive and qualitative descriptive. The out come of the research signified that the mind map method was able to intensify the students' understanding in the civic education subject. The fact was evidenced by pre action condition, complete learning students were 26,7 % and them, who unable to reached minimal completness criteria of 75 were 73,3. However, after action was applied in the civic education learning process, it was discovered that in the cycle I and cycle II they experienced improvement in their understanding, revealed by the increases in the study results. In cycle I there were 40% reached complete learning process. Subsequently, in cycle II 80% gained complete learning process. As for the obervation result, the learning process in cycle II was 86%.
