PENINGKATAN KETERAMPILAN MENULIS DESKRIPSI DENGAN MENGGUNAKAN MEDIA GAMBAR BERSERI PADA SISWA KELAS IV SD NGOTO SEWON BANTUL

Abstrak

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan proses pembelajaran dan keterampilan menulis deskripsi dengan menggunakan media gambar berseri pada siswa kelas IV SD Ngoto Sewon Bantul. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas mengacu model Kemmis dan Mc Taggart. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas IV SD Ngoto yang berjumlah 21 siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini menggunakan teknik tes, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis statistik deskriptif yaitu dengan mencari nilai rerata kelas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan penggunaan media gambar berseri dapat meningkatkan proses pembelajaran dan keterampilan menulis deskripsi siswa kelas IV SD Ngoto Sewon Bantul. Peningkatan tersebut ditandai siswa terlihat lebih serius ketika mengerjakan tulisan deskripsi, siswa semakin aktif, siswa lebih antusias mengikuti pembelajaran, dan  siswa terlihat bertanggung jawab terhadap pekerjaannya. Nilai rerata keterampilan menulis deskripsi pada siklus I sebesar 71,93, dan rerata siklus II sebesar 79,73.

Abstract

This research aims to improve the learning process and improve the skill of writing descriptions by using series picture media on fourth grade students of Ngoto Elementary School Sewon Bantul.This research was a classroom action research which refered to spiral model from Kemmis and Mc. Taggart. The subjects of this reseach were 21 students of fourth grade students Ngoto Elementary School Sewon Bantul. The data was collected by test, observation, and documentation. Technique of the data analysis were qualitative descriptive data analysis by finding the grade average value of class. The results shows that the use of series picture media can improve the learning process and skill of writing description of fourth grade students of Ngoto Elementary School Sewon Bantul. The improvement is shown on student’s seriousness on description writing work, students can be more active, enthusiastic, and responsible with the work in learning process. The average score for skill of writing description in the first cycle is 71.93, and the average of cycle II is 79,73.
