PENGGUNAAN MULTIMEDIA UNTUK MENINGKATKAN PRESTASI BELAJAR IPS SISWA KELAS IVA SD N PATALAN BARU

Abstrak

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penggunaan multimedia untuk meningkatan prestasi belajar IPS siswa kelas IVA SD N Patalan Baru..Jenis penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (Action Research). Desain penelitian menggunakan model Kemmis dan Mc Taggart. Subyek penelitian adalah siswa kelas IVA.Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, tes, catatan lapangan, dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif kuantitatif, dan kualitatif.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan multimedia dapat meningkatkan prestasi belajar IPS bagi siswa. Tahap pra tindakan, menunjukkan bahwa prestasi belajar siswa kelas IVA pada mata pelajaran IPS tergolong rendah. Nilai rata-rata kelas mencapai 52,68 sedangkan ketuntasan belajar sebesar12,50%. Pada siklus I, ketuntasan belajar siswa mengalami peningkatan sebesar 54,17% (kondisi awal 12,50% meningkat menjadi 66,67%). Pada siklus II, dengan adanya perbaikan dan modifikasi multimedia pembelajaran, disertai manajemen pembentukan kelompok dan pemberian reward, prestasi belajar siswa mengalami peningkatan sebesar 16,66% (kondisi siklus I 66,67% meningkat menjadi 83,33%).

Abstract

This study aims to describe the use of multimedia to improve student’s learning performance in social sciences of class IVA primary state Patalan Baru. The type of this research is Classroom Action Research (Action Research). The design studies use the models from Kemmis and Mc Taggart. The subjects are the students of class IVA at primary state Patalan Baru. Technique of collecting the data obtained by observation, testing, field notes, and documentation. Data analysis techniques performed by descriptive quantitative, and qualitative. The results shows that the use of multimedia can enhance social studies achievement for the students. At pre-action stage, shows that IVA grade students’ achievement in social studies is low. The average mark of the class reaches 52.68% while the mastery learning is about 12, 50. In the first period, mastery learning students has increased by 54.17% (about 12.50% at initial condition which increases to 66.67%). In the second period, with the improvement and modification of multimedia learning, accompanied by the formation of the group management and reward, students’ achievement has successfully increased by 16.66% (condition of the first period increases 66.67% to 83.33%).
