Abstrak

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penanganan siswa autis di kelas V di SD Inklusi Gadingan Kabupaten Kulon Progo.Aspek yang diteliti meliputi penanganan yang dilakukan oleh guru kepada siswa autis di dalam kelas.Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis deskriptif. Subjek penelitian adalah guru kelas V SD N Gadingan.Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi dan wawancara.Teknik analisis data meliputi reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Uji keabsahan data menggunakan triangulasi teknik dan triangulasi sumber. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa guru memberikan penanganan kepada siswa autis di kelas V sebagai berikut: 1) memberikan akomodasi pembelajaran dengan menempatkan siswa autis di barisan paling depan, membuatkan soal latihan khusus, melibatakan siswa di kegiatan kelas, serta membiarkan siswa autis sibuk menggambar saat tidak terlibat di kegiatan pembelajaran; 2) menangani perilaku autistik dengan mengajak berbincang-bincang ketika menggumam, mengingatkan ketika berbicara kotor, serta memberikan siswa autis kesempatan beristirahat ketika jenuh belajar dan memberikan reward terhadap tindakan positif siswa autis; dan 3) mengembangkan keterampilan berkomunikasi siswa autis dengan membangun komunikasi dan mengajak berinteraksi.

Abstract

This study aims at describing the handling of autism students in 5th grade at Gadingan Inclusion Elementary School in Kulon Progo Regency. The aspects studied in the researchincluded the handling done by the teachers to the autism students in the classroom.This research used qualitative approach with descriptive type. The subject of the research was the teacher of 5th grade at Gadingan Elementary School. The techniquesofdata collection used observation and interview. The data analysis techniques included data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. The test data of validity used technique triangulation and source triangulation.The results show that teacher handling the autism students in the class as follows: 1) giving learning accommodation by placing autism students in the front row, making special practice questions, stating autism students in class activities, and letting autism students busy drawing when the autism student is not involved in learning activities; 2) handling the autism student’s behavior by inviting conversations when the autism student is mumbling, reminding when the autism student is talking dirty, and giving the autism students a chance to rest when the autism student issaturate learn and giving reward for positive actions of autismstudents; and 3) developing autism student’s communication skills by building autism student’s communication and inviting autism student to interact.
