Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui efektivitas penggunaan multimedia berbasis powerpoint pada hasil belajar IPS dan mengetahui perbedaan hasil belajar IPS antara kelas yang menggunakan multimedia berbasis powerpoint dengan kelas yang tidak menggunakan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan true experimental, melibatkan kelompok eksperimen dengan multimedia berbasis powerpoint dan kelompok kontrol dengan peta. Penelitian dilakukan di SDN 1 Mandiraja Wetan dengan subjek siswa kelas VI A dan VIB berjumlah 52 orang. Teknik pengambilan data meliputi tes dan observasi. Pengujian prasyarat analisis meliputi uji normalitas dan uji homogenitas, dengan teknik analisis data uji t. Hasil menunjukkan multimedia berbasis powerpoint efektif digunakan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar IPS, ditunjukkan dari peningkatan skor pretest-posttest kelompok eksperimen sebesar 8,74. Hasil juga menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan signifikan hasil belajar IPS kelompok eksperimen dengan kontrol setelah treatment, ditunjukkan dari uji t pada posttest. Nilai thitung (2,964) > ttabel (2,00856), p(0,005) ≤ 0,05 menunjukkan hipotesis ada perbedaan signifikan skor posttest kelompok eksperimen dan kontrol diterima.

Abstract

This study aims to find out the effectiveness of the use of powerpoint-based multimedia in Social Studies learning achievement and the difference in Social Studies learning achievement between class using powerpoint-based multimedia and that not using it. This was a true experimental study involving an experimental class using powerpoint-based multimedia and a control class using a map. The study was conducted at SDN 1 Mandiraja Wetan with the subjects who were students of grades VI A and VI B with a total of 52 students. The data were collected by tests and observations. The tests of analysis assumptions were tests of normality and homogeneity. The data were analyzed by means of the t-test. The result shows that the powerpoint-based multimedia is effective to be used to improve Social Studies learning achievement, indicated by improvement of the scores of the experimental class from the pretest to the posttest by 8.74. The results also show that there is a significant difference in the Social Studies learning achievement between the experimental group and the control group after the treatment, indicate by the ttest for the posttest. The value of tcount (2.964) > ttable (2.00856) with p (0.005) ≤ 0.05 shows that the hypothesis that there is a significant difference in the posttest scores between the experimental group and the control group is accepted.
