THE DIFFERENCE OF EXPERIMENTAL METHOD AND DEMONSTRATIVE METHOD USINGCONTEXTUAL TEACHING AND LEARNING (CTL) APPROACH IN TERM OF LEARNING OUTCOMES OF STUDENTS 1 SEWON SHS

Abstract


Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan metode eksperimen dan metode demonstrasi pada pendekatan Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) dan mengetahui metode pembelajaran yang lebih efektif pada pendekatan CTL ditinjau dari pencapaian keterampilan proses sains dan peningkatan hasil belajar ranah kognitif peserta didik. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen semu (quasi experimental research) dengan desain penelitian yakni the pretest posttest two treatment design. Populasi penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas X IPA SMA N 1 Sewon. Sampel penelitian diambil dengan teknik purposive sampling. Instrumen penelitian ini yaitu RPP, LKPD, soal tes, lembar penilaian keterampilan proses sains, dan lembar observasi keterlaksanaan pembelajaran. Teknik analisis data untuk menguji hipotesis dalam penelitian menggunakan analisis persentase pencapaian KKM pada rerata nilai keterampilan proses sains dan standard gain hasil belajar ranah kognitif.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1)terdapat perbedaan pencapaian keterampilan proses sains (2) metode eksperimen lebih efektif daripada metode demonstrasi ditinjau dari pencapaian keterampilan proses sains (3) tidak terdapat perbedaan peningkatan hasil belajar ranah kognitif (4) metode eksperimen sama efektifnya dengan metode demonstrasi pada pendekatan CTL ditinjau dari peningkatan hasil belajar ranah kognitif peserta didik pada materi usaha dan energi. Kata kunci:pendekatan Contextual Teaching and Learning(CTL), metode eksperimen, metode demonstrasi, keterampilan proses sains, hasil belajar ranah kognitif Abstract This research aims to find out the difference of experimental method dan demonstrative method using Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) approach and to find out more effective of learning methods using CTL approach in term of achievement on science process skills andthe improvement of learning outcomes in cognitive of student. This research is conducted in quasi-experimental research with research design is the pretest posttest two treatment design. The population of this research are students of class X IPA in 1 Sewon SHS. Sample in research is selected of purposive sampling technique. Instruments of this research use are learning plan, worksheet for student, test question, assessment sheet of science process skillsand observation sheet of implementation of learning plan. Data analysis techniques used to test the hypothesis in this research is analyze of percentage mininum criteria achievement onaverage value of science process skills dan standard gain of learning outcomes in cognitive. The results of the research show that (1) there is difference of achievement on science process skills (2) experimental method more effective than demonstrative method in term of achievement on science process skills (3) there is no difference the improvement of learning outcomes in cognitive (4) experimental method as effective as demonstrative method in term of improvement of learning outcomes in cognitive of students on learns work and energy.
