PERBEDAAN METODE OUTDOOR LEARNING ACTIVITY TERHADAP PENINGKATAN HASIL BELAJAR MATERI SUHU DAN KALOR PADA PESERTA DIDIK SMA NEGERI 5 YOGYAKARTA THE DIFFERENCE OF OUTDOOR LEARNING ACTIVITY METHOD ON IMPROVING THE LEARNING OUTCOME OF TEMPERATURE AND CALOR SUBJECT AT SMA NEGERI 5 YOGYAKARTA

Abstract


Intisari-Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) mengetahui perbedaan penggunaan metode outdoor learning activity pada peningkatan penguasaan materi fisika, (2) metode yang lebih baik untuk meningkatkan penguasaan materi fisika antara metode outdoor learning avtivity atau konvensional, (3) mengetahui perbedaan penggunaan metode outdoor learning activity pada capaian minat belajar fisika, dan (4) metode yang lebih baik untuk meningkatkan minat belajar fisika antara metode outdoor learning avtivity atau konvensional.

Metode penelitian menggunakan Quasi Experimental Design. Penelitian diadakan di SMA Negeri 5 Yogyakarta dengan melibatkan dua kelas (XA dan XB) masing-masing berjumlah 30 peserta didik. Kelas XA menggunakan metode pembelajaran outdoor learning avtivity, sedangkan kelas XB menggunakan metode pembelajaran konvensional. Materi fisika yang digunakan adalah suhu dan kalor. Analisis perbedaan peningkatan penguasaan materi dan capaian minat belajar peserta didik dilakukan dengan metodeindependent sample t-test dan standar gain.

Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa metode outdoor learning activity lebih baik daripada metode konvensional dalam meningkatkan penguasaan materi fisika dengan nilai gain sebesar 0,48 dengan kategori sedang. Capaian minat belajar peserta didik tidak menunjukkan adanya perbedaan pencapaian minat belajar antara kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Dengan demikian, metode pembelajaran outdoor learning activityberpengaruh pada peningkatanpenguasaan materi fisika peserta didik tetapi tidak berpengaruh pada capaian minat belajar peserta didik di SMA Negeri 5 Yogyakarta.

Abstract-This research is aimed to: (1) know the difference of using outdoor learning activity method against the improvement of mastery in physics matter, (2) find the better method between outdoor learning activity and conventional to improve the mastery in physics matter, (3) know the difference of using outdoor learning activity method against study physics interest, and (4) find the better method between outdoor learning activity and conventional to improve study physics interest.

The research method was used Quasi Experimental Design. This research was held at SMA Negeri 5 Yogyakarta with involved two classes (XA and XB) with 30 students in each class. Class XA was used outdoor learning activity method, whether class XB was used conventional method. The data collected from pretest, posttest, and questionnaire. The result of pretest and posttest were analyzed by independent sample T-test  and the improvement of mastery in physics and study interest rate were analyzed by standard gain.

The analysis showed outdoor learning method had a better result to improve the mastery in physics matter than conventional method with 0,48 point in standard gain with average category. The rate of study interest did not show any difference between class with outdoor learning method and class with conventional method. Therefore, outdoor learning activity was influenced towards the mastery in physics matter but was not influenced toward study physics interest.
