PENGARUH METODE INTEGRATED WORKED EXAMPLE DALAM MULTIMEDIA PEMBELAJARAN STATISTIKA SMP TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN RETENSI, TRANSFER, DAN COGNITIVE LOAD

Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan pengaruh antara penggunaan metode integrated worked example dan non-integrated worked example dalam multimedia pembelajaran statistika terhadap (1) kemampuan retensi; (2) kemampuan transfer; (3) cognitive load selama tes kemampuan retensi; dan (4) cognitive load selama tes kemampuan transfer. Penelitian ini merupakan true experiment dengan desain penelitian double-blind, di mana randomisasi dilakukan antara kelompok eksperimen. Dalam proses randomisasi, baik subjek penelitian maupun peneliti tidak mengetahui kondisi perlakuan yang digunakan. Pembelajaran dilakukan melalui tiga fase, yaitu fase introductory, fase acquisition, dan fase tes. Penelitian dilakukan di salah satu SMP Negeri di Yogyakarta, dengan sampel penelitian berjumlah 62 siswa, yang terpilih secara acak. Untuk memperoleh data penelitian, instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes kemampuan retensi dan transfer serta skala pengukuran cognitive load pada akhir butir soal. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah ANCOVA (Analysis of Covariance) dengan nilai tes kemampuan awal dan skor cognitive load selama pembelajaran digunakan sebagai kovariat serta taraf signifikansi 0.05. Hasil analisis menyimpulkan bahwa dalam pembelajaran multimedia statistika, metode integrated worked example tidak lebih unggul secara signifikan dari metode non-integrated worked example ditinjau dari kemampuan retensi, kemampuan transfer, cognitive load selama tes retensi, dan transfer. Oleh karena itu, kedua metode integrated worked example maupun metode non-integrated worked example dapat digunakan sebagai alternatif yang baik untuk mengajarkan siswa kelas VIII cara menghitung nilai rata-rata dari suatu grafik melalui pembelajaran multimedia.
