THE EFFORT TO IMPROVE THE GERMAN SPEAKING SKILL OF THE GRADE XI STUDENTS OF SMA N 1 TEMANGGUNG THROUGH PICTURE-SERIES

Abstract
This research aimed to improve (1) speaking skill in German and (2) learners’ activity for the 11th grade students of SMA N 1 Temanggung through Picture-Series. The type of this research was Classroom Action Research (CAR), which was conducted in two cycles of research. Each cycles consist of four phases: planning, action, observation and reflection. The strategy was determined collaboratively between researcher, teacher, and students. The subject were 34 students in the 11th MIPA 2 students of SMA N 1 Temanggung. The data of this study were obtained through observation, interviews, questionnaires, field notes and speaking skill test in German. The data was analyzed by qualitative descriptive analysis. The result of this research showed that: there was the increasing of the German speaking skills and activity the 11th grade students of SMA N 1 Temanggung. The improvement of the average grades of the student’s German speaking skill reached 12,06% and the learners’ activity reached 84,57%
