IMPROVING THE GERMAN LANGUAGE READING SKILL OF THE GRADE XI STUDENTS OF SMA N 2 BANGUNTAPAN BANTUL THROUGH COMICS MEDIA

Abstract
The aims of this research are to increase: (1) the German reading skill of the grade XI students of SMA N 2 Banguntapan Bantul through comics media, (2) the students’ activity of the grade XI of SMA N 2 Banguntapan Bantul through comics media. This research is a classroom action research. The strategy is determined collaborativelly between researcher and teacher. The subject of this research is the grade XI SMA N 2 Banguntapan Bantul. Data analysis in this research is descriptive qualitative. This research was implemented in two cycles. The cycles consisted of planning, acting, observe and reflecting. The succesful indicator of this research is (1) a success product, and (2) a success process. The results of this research showed that the use of comics media was able to improve (1) the students’ skill in reading German. The mean score reached 90,90% and (2) the students’ activity. The mean improved 23,72%.
