THE POLITENESS STRATEGY OF THE DERECTIVES SPEECH ACTS IN ANDREW STANTON 'S FINDET NEMO

Abstract


The purpose of this study were to find (1) frequence of politeness strategy in directive speech acts and (2) the illocution which often used Brown and Levinson theory about politeness strategy at Findet Nemo movie. This study used descriptive-qualitative method. The data source was Finde Nemo movie and the data resources were all of the directive speech acts in the dialogues of Findet Nemo movie. Data were collected through 'simak bebas libat cakap' technique and notes. The reliability and validity used interrater and intrarater. The data analyzing  used pada pragmatik method. The results of the research showed that there were four politeness strategies, (1) negative pliteness strategy, bald on record, positive politeness strategy and off record. Negative politeness strategy was politeness strategy that the the most frequent use. (2) illocution often use four politeness strategies, they were commanding and asking.
