IMAGERIES IN THE POEM “DAS GŐTTLICHE” BY JOHANN WOLFGANG VON GOETHE

Abstract

This study aims to describe imageries in the poem “Das Gőttliche”.The research object was the poem “Das Gőttliche” by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. The data were collected through observation and heuristic reading techniques. They were analyzed by means of the qualitative descriptive technique. The data trustworthiness was enhanced by the semantic validity and strengthened by the expert judgment validity. The reliability was the intra-rater and inter-rater reliability. The findings of the study are as follows. In the poem “Das Gőttliche”, there are six visual imageries, one auditory imagery, one tactile imagery, one taste imagery, and nine kinesthetic imageries.
