THE EFFECTIVENESS OF THE TALKING CHIP TECHNIQUE IN THE LEARNING OF SPEAKING IN GERMAN AMONG THE ELEVENTH GRADE STUDENTS OF SMA NEGERI 1 OF NGEMPLAK SLEMAN

Abstract
This study aimed to determine: (1) differences in learning achievement speaks German skills class XI students of SMA Negeri 1 Ngemplak Sleman between classes that are taught using talking chip technique and clattering studs are taught using conventional techniques, (2) the effectiveness of the use of the technique on a clattering studs learning skills speak German in class XI SMA Negeri 1 Ngemplak Sleman. This type of research is quasi-experimental. The population is all class XI students of SMA Negeri 1 Ngemplak Sleman, amounting to 123. Sampling technique using simple random sampling, where the class XI Science 2 (30 learners) as an experimental class and one science class (31 students) as a class control. Test validity and content validity were used construct validity, while reliability is used is Cronbach's Alpha. Data analysis using t-test. The results showed that greater than (2.126> 2.000) with significance level α = 0.05. It can be concluded (1) there are significant differences of learning achievement speaks German skills class XI students of SMA Negeri 1 Ngemplak Sleman between using the techniques taught by clattering studs and taught by using conventional techniques. The average value of the post-test experimental class at 9.717 while the value of the average post-test control class is 8.871. The weight of the effectiveness of 10.8%. (2) the use of techniques clattering studs on learning German language speaking skills in class XI SMA Negeri 1 Ngemplak Sleman is more effective than the use of conventional techniques.
