THE EFFECTIVENESS OF “BILD BESCHREIBEN” LANGUAGE GAMES IN THE LEARNING OF WRITING IN GERMAN AMONG THE STUDENTS OF GRADE XI OF SMA N 1 JETIS BANTUL

Abstract


This study aimed to determine: (1) differences achievement in the learning of writing in German among the students of class XI SMA N 1 Jetis Bantul between the class  taught using “Bild beschreiben” language games and class taught using conventional media, (2) the effectiveness of “Bild beschreiben” language games in the learning of writing in German among the students of class XI SMA N 1 Jetis Bantul. This research is a quasi experimental. This research was conducted at SMA N 1 Jetis Bantul, the entire population in class XI Social students totaling 101 learners. The sampling technique using simple random sampling. Obtained from sampling XI IPS 1 as the experimental class and class XI IPS2 as an control class. The data obtained in the study of German language writing skills scores of students in the pre-test and post-test. The validity of the instrument using content validity and construct validity. Reliability is calculated with the formula Alpha Cronbach (r = 0,65). Analysis of the data in this study using t-test. Based on the results of t-test analysis of the data shows that tobtained (2,540) greater than ttable(2,022) with significance level α = 0.05. This means that there is a positive and significant difference in learning achievement German writing skills between the class taught using “Bild beschreiben” language games and class taught using conventional media. The average value of the post-test experimental class was higher 0,359 than the average value of the post-test control class. The weight of the effectiveness of 9,6%, so it can be concluded that “Bild beschreiben” language games effective in the learning of writing in German.
