THE EFFECTS OF ACHIEVEMENT MOTIVATION AND GERMAN GRAMMATICAL STRUCTURE MASTERY ON GERMAN READING SKILLS OF GRADE XI LANGUAGE STUDENTS OF SMA N 5 PURWOREJO
Abstract
The study was aimed to know the effects of achievement motivation and german grammatical structure mastery on german reading skill. The population and the sample were 29 students. The sampling technique was sampling jenuh. There were two independent valiables: achievement motivation (X1) and german grammatical structure mastery (X2), and one dipendent variable: german reading skill (Y). The study was ex post facto. The data collection technique were questionnaire and test. The pearson formula was used in validating the data and alpha cronbach was used in reliability testing. From the results of the calculation, the effect of achievement motivation on german reading skills was 22,0% and the effect of german grammatical structure mastery on german reading skills was 32.5%. From the result of the study, it can be concluded that the achievement motivation and the german grammatical structure gave the significant effects on the german reading skills with some contributions in the amount of 54,5%.
