THE EFFECTIVENESS OF THE COOPERATIVE LEARNING METHOD OF THE COOPERATIVE INTEGRATED READING AND COMPOSITION (CIRC) TECHNIQUE IN THE GERMAN LANGUAGE READING COMPREHENSION AMONG THE STUDENTS OF SMA NEGERI 1 IMOGIRI, BANTUL

Abstract


This research aimed to find (1) the different the teaching of German among the students of grade XI in SMA N 1 Imogiri between those who are tought by cooperative learning methode CIRC techniques and those by conventional methode, (2) the effectiveness the use of cooperative learning methode CIRC techniques in teaching of German reading skill among the students in SMA N 1 Imogiri. This research is a quasi- experiment. The data were collected through a pretest and a posttest. The reliability was calculated using KR 20 formula and the coeffiecient was 0,938. The data were analyzed by means of the t-test. The result showed tobtained=2,973 > ttable=2,010 at a significance level α = 0,05 and the effectiveness weight was 10,13%. Therefore, it can be concluded that the use of the cooperative learning methode CIRC techniques is more effective of German reading skills.
