THEEFFECTIVENESSOFTHEFISHBONETECHNIQUEINTHELEARNINGOF READING SKILL IN GERMAN AMONG THE STUDENTS OF GRADE XI OF SMANEGERI 7YOGYAKARTA
Abstract
This study aimed to determine: (1) differences achievement in the learning of reading skill in German among the students of class XI SMAN 7 Yogyakarta between the taught using Fish bone technique and taught using conventional technique, (2) the effectiveness of Fish bone technique in the learning of reading skill in German among the students of class XI SMAN 7 Yogyakarta. This research is a quasi experimental. This study has two variables: the Fishbone technique as independent variable and reading skills as the dependent variable. This research was conducted at SMAN 7 Yogyakarta, the entire population in class XI student stotaling 232 learners. The sampling technique using simple random sampling. Obtained from sampling XI IPS 3 as the control class and class XIIPA3 as anexperimental class. The data obtained in the study of German language reading skills scores of students in the pre-test and post-test. The validity of the instrument using content validity, construct validity, anditem validity. The validity of the formula is calculated by Pearson Product Moment. Reliability I scalculated with the formula KR-20. Analysis of the datain this study usingt- test. Based on the results oft-test analysis of the data shows thatt ob tained (4.436) greater than ttable (2.009) with significance level α=0.05. This means that the reisa differencein learning achievement German reading skills betweenthe experimentalclass andthe controlclass. The average valueofthepost-test experimental class was 30.759 higher than the average value of the post-test control classis 28.733. The weight of the effectiveness is 8.6%, so it can be concluded that Fishbone technique moreeffective than conventional technique in thelearning o freading skill in German.
