THE EFFECTIVENESS OF TECHNIQUES OF “MIND MAP” IN THE LEARNING OF WRITING IN GERMAN AMONG THE STUDENTS OF CLASS XI SMA N 3 TEMANGGUNG
Abstract
This study aimed to determine: (1) differences achievement in the learning of writing in German among the students of class XI SMA N 3 Temanggung between the taught using techniques of Mind Map and taught using conventional teaching techniques, (2) the effectiveness of techniques of Mind Map in the learning of writing in German among the students of class XI SMA N 3 Temanggung. This research is a quasi experimental. This study has two variables: the techniques of Mind Map as independent variables and writing skills as the dependent variable. This research was conducted at SMA N 3 Temanggung, the entire population in class XI Sains students totaling 133 learners. The sampling technique using simple random sampling. Obtained from sampling XI IPA 1 as the control class and class XI IPA2 as an experimental class. The data obtained in the study of German language writing skills scores of students in the pre-test and post-test. The validity of the instrument using content validity and construct validity. Reliability is calculated with the formula Alpha Cronbach. Analysis of the data in this study using t-test. Based on the results of t-test analysis of the data shows that tobtained greater than ttable (3.122> 1.997) with significance level α = 0.05. This means that there is a difference in learning achievement German writing skills between the experimental class and the control class. The average value of the post-test experimental class was 12,40 higher than the average value of the post-test control class is 11.62. The weight of the effectiveness of 8.3%, so it can be concluded that techniques of Mind Map effective in the learning of writing in German.
