THE INFLUENCE OF THE READING INTEREST AND VOCABULARY MASTERY TO THE STUDENTS’ GERMAN WRITING SKILL AMONG THE STUDENTS OF GRADE XI OF SMA NEGERI 2 WONOGIRI

Abstract


The purpose of this study is to determine: (1) The influence of reading interest to the writing skill of German, (2) the influence of vocabulary mastery to the writing skill of German, (3) the influence of reading interest and vocabulary mastery to the writing skill of German at the same time among the students of grade XI of SMA Negeri 2 Wonogiri. The data take by using questionnaires and tests. This kind of study is an ex post facto. The validity test of the instrument is by using the formula of Pearson and the reliability test is by using the formula of Alpha Cronbach. The result shows that the regression line equation Ŷ = -26,868 + 0,774 X1 + 1,901 X2. From the results showed (1) there is significant influence of the reading interest to the German writing skill is tcount = 5,207 > ttable = 1,986, (2) there is significant influence of the vocabulary mastery to the German writing skill is tcount = 5,094 > ttable = 1,986 and (3) there is significant influence of the reading interest and vocabulary mastery to the German writing skill is fcount = 31,965 > ftable = 3,09.
