THE EFFECTIVENESS OF THE USE OF THE TWO STAY TWO STRAY TECHNIQUE IN THE TEACHING OF THE GERMAN SPEAKING SKILL IN CLASS X SMA NEGERI 1 MUNTILAN MAGELANG
Abstract
This study aimed to determine: (1) differences in learning achievement of German speaking skills in class X students of SMA Negeri 1 Muntilan Magelang between classes that are taught using Two Stay Two Stray technique and classes are taught using conventional technique, (2) the effectiveness of the use of the Two Stay Two Stray technique on German speaking skills in class X SMA Negeri 1 Muntilan Magelang. This research was a quasi experimental. The population is all class X students of SMA Negeri 1 Muntilan Magelang amounting to 293. Sampling technique using simple random sampling, where the class X Science 4 (33 students) as an experimental class and the class X science 6 (30 students) as a class control. The data of the research were taken from the pre- test and post-test. The validity used was content and construct validity. The data analysis used in this research was t-test. The result of the research showed that the ttest was greater than the ttable (ttest 2,439>ttable 2,000), with thesignificance level of 0,05. It can be concluded (1) there are significant differences in learning achievement of German speaking skills in class X students of SMA Negeri 1 Muntilan Magelang between classes that are taught using Two Stay Two Stray technique and classes are taught using conventional technique. The effectiveness value was 9%. In conclusion, the learning of German speaking skill in SMA N 1 Muntilan Magelang using Two Stay Two Stray technique was more effective than that of using conventional technique.
