THE EFFECTIVENESS OF THE ESTAFET WRITING METHOD WITH THE HELP OF VERB + ARGUMENT IN THE TEACHING OF GERMAN WRITING SKILL IN GRADE X STUDENTS OF SMA NEGERI 1 MUNTILAN MAGELANG

Abstract


This research aims to find (1) a significant difference of the achievement of German writing skill in grade X students of SMA Negeri 1 Muntilan Magelang between those who are taught by Estafet Writing method with the help of Verb + Argument and those by conventional method, (2) the effectiveness of the Estafet Writing method with the help of Verb + Argument in the teaching of German writing skill in grade X students of SMA Negeri 1 Muntilan Magelang. This research is a quasi-experiment. The data were collected through a pretest and a posttest. The data were analyzed by means of the t-test. The result showed ttest 6,421>ttable 2,000 at a significance level α = 0,05 and df = 56. Post-test result of both groups showed that the mean of the experimental group ist at 84,8966 > mean of the control group at 78,4138 and the effectiveness weight was 8,8%. Therefore, it can be concluded that the Estafet Writing method with the help of Verb + Argument in the teaching of the German writing skill is more effective than the conventional method.
