THE EFFECTIVINESS OF CROSSWORD PUZZLES IN THE GERMAN VOCABULARY LEARNING AMONG THE STUDENTS OF 11th GRADE IN SMA NEGER1 PAKEM SLEMAN

Abstract


This research is aimed to determine (1) differences achievement in German vocabulary learning among the students of 11th grade in SMA Negeri 1 Pakem Sleman, between the taught using crossword puzzles and the taught using conventional teaching methods, and (2) the effectiviness of crossword puzzles in the German vocabulary learning among the students of 11th grade in SMA Negeri 1 Pakem Sleman. This research is a quasi experiment study. The data was taken by using the vocabulary test. According to the data analysis using t test, the value of tcounted3,962 is greater than ttable 2,021 on the significant level α=0,05% and df=41. The effectiviness point is 9,8%. The implication of this research is the crosswords can be aplicated in German vocabulary learning.
