THE GENETIC-STRUCTURALISM ANALYSIS IN THE METAMORPHOSIS BY FRANZ KAFKA

Abstract


This research had purposed to describe (1) the inner elements, (2) the social and cultur condition of Prague’s citizens, (3) the social and cultur background of author’s life, and (4) author’s world point of view in The Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka. The research methods is dialectic method with descriptive qualitative analysis. The results of this research are: (1) plot: die auβere Handlung. The lead figures of the story are Gregor Samsa, Herr Samsa (Gregor’s father), Frau Samsa (Gregor’s mother), and Grete (Gregor’s sister). Settings: (place) Gregor’s room, Samsa family’s living room, and (time) day-time (Tageszeit). Story’s point of view: personaler Er-Erzähler, (2) the social and cultur condition of Prague’s citizens are the human enslavement by kapitalic economic-system and Jewish’s isolation by most of Europe citizens, (3) the social and cultur background of author’s life that influenced his world point of view in this story is the big amount of stresses that he got by his authoritarian father during his life, (4) the author’s world point of view that representated in this story is the existentialism ideology.
