AN ERROR ANALYSIS OF THE GRADE XI. STUDENTS WRITINGS IN SMA NEGERI 1 PRAMBANAN KLATEN

Abstract


This research is aimed to describes the morphological, morphosyntactical and syntactical errorin the students’ writing of SMA Negeri 1 Prambanan Klaten. It is a kind of descriptive-qualitative research. It takes linguistic units (such as: morphemes, words, phrases and sentences) which have kind of error (mention above) as the research objects. The data has been taken through a writing test in german language on XI-graded students. The writer used metode agih to analyse taken data. The result of research shows that there are: (1) 14 morphological error (6,22%), which is shown in word-compounding, (2) morphosyntactical error 124 data (55,12%), which shown in two cases, those are in verb-conjugating 70 data (31,11%) and article-declinating 54 data (24%), (3) syntactical error 87 data (38,66%), which is shown in statement-compounding 87 data (38,66%). There are some factors causing those kind an error, there are the language rule of use between Bahasa Indonesia and german language, their own mother tongue self and the competence of students in mastering languages.
