THE EFFORT IN IMPROVING THE GERMAN READING SKILL OF THE ELEVENTH GRADERS OF SMA NEGERI 1 SEDAYU BANTUL USING THE COOPERATIVE SCRIPT METHOD
Abstract
The purpose of this research is to increase (1) the learner activity of class XI SMA Negeri 1 Sedayu Bantul using Cooperative Script method, (2) achievement learn skill reading German language of student of class XI SMA Negeri 1 Sedayu Bantul using Cooperative Script method. This type of research is Classroom Action Research (CAR). The strategies in this study were determined collaboratively between researcher and teacher. The subjects of this study are students of class XI Pengayaanof SMA Negeri 1 Sedayu Bantul. The data was analyzed by using qualitative descriptive analysis.This classroom action research consists of two cycles. Each cycle consists of planning, action, observation, and reflection. Indicators of success in this study, namely (1) the success of the process and (2) the success of the product. Criteria of Complete Minimum in German subject at SMA Negeri 1 Sedayu Bantul reaches 78. The result of this research indicate that (1) there is improvement of student activity of class XI Pengayaanof SMA Negeri 1 Sedayu Bantul reaches 27,27% through Cooperative Script method and (2) there is improvement of reading skill achievement of German text of class XI Pengayaanof SMA Negeri 1 Sedayu Bantul reaches 81,81% through Cooperative Script method. The average score of reading skill in German learners increases. The average value increase was 23,52% from 68,29 before being given 91,81 after being given the action.
