AN ANALYSIS OF “SCHNEEWITTCHEN AND DIE KLUGE BAUERNTOCHTER” IN THE BROTHER GRIMM’S FAIRY TALES BASED (A STRUCTURALLY NARRATIVE ANALYSIS BY VLADIMIR PROPP)

Abstract

This study was aimed to describe (1) the functions (2) folktale’s structure scheme, and (3) spheres of actions in folktales Schneewittchen and Die kluge Bauerntochter from the book Kinder- und Hausmärchen. Data was taken trough read-note technique. Data were analyzed by descriptive qualitative techniques. The data reliability used were intrarater und interater. The results of this study were (1) The number of the function from Schneewittchen were 16. The number of function from Die kluge Bauerntochter were 12. (2) The scheme structure of folktale Schneewittchen and Die kluge Bauerntochter were divided into 3 parts, which are, the beginning, the middle, and the end. (3) The function of folktale Schneewittchen was distributed into 5 sphere of actions. The functions of sphere of actions in Die kluge Bauerntochter were distributed into 5 sphere of actions.
