PENGGUNAAN MEDIA KARTU KATA UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN MEMBACA PERMULAAN ANAK TUNARUNGU KELAS I SLB B WIYATA DHARMA I SLEMAN

Abstrak
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan membaca permulaan anak tunarungu
dikelas I SLB B Wiyata Dharma I Sleman melalui penggunaan media kartu kata. Jenis penelitian adalah
penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK). Subyek penelitian berjumlah dua orang kelas I SLB B Wiyata Dharma
I Sleman. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Desember 2016. Teknik pengumpulan data
menggunakan observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi dan tes kemampuan membaca permulaan. Teknik
analisis data menggunakan analisis deskripstif kuantitatif dan penyajian data dalam bentuk tabel dan
grafik histogram. Hasil penelitian diketahui bahwa media kartu kata dapat digunakan untuk
meningkatan kemampuan membaca permulaan anak tunarungu dikelas I SLB B Wiyata Dharma I
Sleman. Hasil tes kemampuan awal subjek 1 memperoleh skor 69,69%, setelah dilakukan tindakan
melalui media kartu kata subjek pada pasca tindakan siklus I adalah 72,72%. Hasil tes kemampuan awal
subjek 2 adalah 60,60%, setelah dilakukan tindakan melalui media kartu kata skor subjek pada pasca
tindakan I adalah 66,67%.

Abstract
This study aims to improve reading ability to the deaf children of class 1 CLB B in wiyata
Dharma I sleman through the using of flash card media. Type of this research is classroom action
research (PTK). The research’s subjects were two deaf children in class I SLB B Wiyata Dharma I
Sleman. This research was conducted in December 2016. Data collection techniques used observation,
interview, documentation and initial reading comprehension test. Data analysis techniques used
quantitative descriptive analysis. Presentation of data in the form of tables and histogram graphs. The
result of research is known that flash card media can be used to increase the reading ability of the deaf
children in class I SLB B Wiyata Dharma I Sleman. The result of initial ability test of subject 1 got
score 69,69%, after done action through flash card media, subject of the research’s score at post
action cycle I was 72,72%. The result of the initial ability test of subject 2 is 60,60%, after the action
through the flash card media, the second subject’s score at post action I is 66,67%.
