Abstrak
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan; (1) pelaksanaan pendidikan
karakter di SD Kasihan Kabupaten Bantul; dan (2) faktor pendukung dan penghambat
pelaksanaan pendidikan karakter di SD Kasihan Kabupaten Bantul. Penelitian ini
merupakan penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Subyek penelitian adalah
kepala sekolah, guru dan peserta didik. Pengumpulan data menggunakan metode
wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Instrumen penelitian menggunakan pedoman
wawancara, pedoman observasi dan pedoman dokumentasi dengan peneliti sebagai
human instrument. Analisis data menggunakan analisis model interaktif dari Miles and
Huberman yang meliputi pengumpulan data, reduksi data, penyajian data, dan
pengambilan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa; (1) pelaksanaan
pendidikan karakter di SD Kasihan Kabupaten Bantul terlaksana melalui; (a)
pengintegrasian nilai-nilai pendidikan karakter pada KBM; (b) kegiatan ekstrakurikuler
yang mencerminkan nilai-nilai pendidikan karakter; (c) keseharian/pembiasaan yang
tercipta melalui budaya sekolah; dan (2) faktor pendukungnya adalah komunikasi, kerja
sama kepala sekolah dan guru, sosialisasi dewan sekolah dengan masyarakat dan
fasilitas. Faktor penghambatnya adalah pengaruh lingkungan, komunikasi antara pihak
sekolah dengan orang tua, rendahnya kesadaran peserta didik, terbatasnya sumber
dana dan kurangnya pengawasan.

IMPLEMENTATION OF CHARACTER EDUCATION IN KASIHAN ELEMENTARY
SCHOOL AT BANTUL DISTRICT
Abstract
This research aimed to describe; (1) implementation of the character education
in Kasihan Elementary School at Bantul District; and (2) supporting and obstructive
factors of such implementation of character edication in Kasihan Elementary School at
Bantul District. This research was a descriptive study employing qualitative approach.
The subjects of the research were the school principle and students. Then, the data were
collected by using interview, observation, and documentation. The research instruments
of this study were interview guidelines, observation guidelines, and documentation
guidelines, as well as, the researcher as the human instrument. The data were analyzed
through the interactive model analysis of Miles and Huberman consisting of data
collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The findings revealed that;
(1) implementation of the character education in Kasihan Elementary School at Bantul
District was through; (a) integrating the values of character education in the teaching and learning process; (b) implementing in the extracurricular activities which reflect the
values of character education; (c) getting into habit created through school culture; and
(2) supporting factors were the communication, cooperation between the school
principle and teachers, socialization process between the school committee and society,
and the facilities. The obstructive factors were the influence of the environment,
communication between the school party and parents, the low awareness of the
students, the limitation of the budget, and the low level of monitoring.
