Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan capaian kompetensi ranah kognitif, dan ranah psikomotorik, antara siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran model problem based learning dengan siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran model konvensional pada topik transistor sebagai penguat daya. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuasi eksperimen dengan desain non-equivalent control group design. Penelitian dilakukan pada kelas X program keahlian Teknik Audio Video di SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Bantul. Subyek penelitian adalah siswa kelas X TAV1 dan X TAV2. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah teknik analisis deskriptif dan uji-t. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan capaian kompetensi ranah kognitif, antara siswa yang mengikuti model problem based learning (= 74,06) dengan siswa yang mengikuti model konvensional pada topik transistor sebagai penguat daya (= 52,76), thitung > ttabel (6,156 > 1,999); sig=0,000, dan terdapat perbedaan capaian kompetensi ranah psikomotorik, antara siswa yang mengikuti model problem based learning (= 70,14) dengan siswa yang mengikuti model konvensional pada topik transistor sebagai penguat daya (= 63,22), thitung > ttabel (3,327 > 1,999); sig=0,002.

Abstract
This research aims to determine the difference of cognitive and psychomotor competency, between students that follow problem based learning model with students that follow conventional model on the topic transistor as a power amplifier. This research is a quasi-experimental research design with non-equivalent control group design. The research was conducted on a class X Audio Video Engineering program in SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Bantul. Subjects were students of class X TAV1 and X TAV2. Data analysis technique used is descriptive analysis techniques and t-test. The results showed that there are differences in the cognitive achievement of competence, between students that follow problem based learning model (= 74.06) with students that follow conventional model on the topic transistor as a power amplifier (= 52.76 ), thitung> t table (6.156 > 1.999); sig = 0,000, and there are differences of the psychomotor competency achievement between students that follow problem based learning model (= 70.14) with students that follow conventional model on the topic transistor as a power amplifier (= 63.22), thitung> t table (3.327> 1.999); sig = 0.002.
