THE SCHOOL'S ROLE IN TACKLING THE STRAYING BEHAVIOUR OF STUDENTS IN SMP NEGERI 13 KOTA MAGELANG

ABSTRACT
The purpose of this research is to determine, describe, and analyze the: (1) School role to overcome student deviant behavior SMP Negeri 13 Kota Magelang, (2) Obstacles faced by the school to address the student's deviant behavior SMP Negeri 13 Kota Magelang, (3) School efforts in overcoming obstacles that occur to cope with student deviant behavior in SMP Negeri 13 Kota Magelang.
This research is a descriptive research with qualitative research approach. This research subject is determined purposively with the research subjects are 1 headmaster, 1 teacher Civics, 1 BK teachers and 2 students. For the collection of research data in this case the researcher as a research instrument by using an interview guide, sheet and documentation note sheet. Validation of this research data using Cross Check technique.
The results of this study as follows: (1) School role to overcome student deviant behavior in SMP Negeri 13 Kota Magelang is implemented in the form of a character-based school yearly program that includes: (a) aspects of coaching and (b) aspects of prevention of student deviation. The emphasis in the program this activity is indeed on the introduction and practice / application of norms as well as the expected values of character through learning at school or outside of school. Technically the implementation of this character-based school program is led and evaluated by the school Civic Teacher who served as deputy head of student affairs. (2) Barriers experienced by schools in tackling student deviant behavior SMP Negeri 13 Kota Magelang can be grouped into two obstacles, : (a) Barriers from within the school include students' openness to the problems faced and the difficulty of developing student learning interests, and (b) Barriers from outside the school, including low socioeconomic level, tend to burden or suppress the process of individual development of school students. (3) School efforts in overcoming obstacles in coping student deviant behavior in SMP Negeri 13 Kota Magelang namely the school to do coaching program to overcome barriers from within the school and the program of prevention of deviant behavior of students to overcome barriers that occur from outside the school.
