POLITICAL COMMUNICATION STRATEGY OF THE UNITED DEVELOPMENT PARTY (PPP) IN WINNING THE ELECTIONS OF 2014 IN KOTAGEDE DISTRICT
Abstract
ABSTRACT
This article will reveal about the political communication strategy of the unity of development party (PPP) in winning the 2014 general election in Kotagede District. This research is a descriptive research with qualitative approach. The technique in determining the research subjects is purposive techniques, while the data collection techniques using interviews and documentation. The researcher used cross check technique to ensure the accuracy of the data. As the data analysis techniques, the researcher using inductive data analysis, which includes 3 (three) stages: data reduction, data presentation and conclusion. The results of the research showed that: 1) The PPP's political communication strategy in winning elections in 2014 in Kotagede, namely the campaign conducts cultured; personal approach (especially youth), social, and cultural approach; keep the loyalty of the community through the PPP program; and the issues raised in accordance with the conditions of the community. 2) Process of preparation that was done that is looking for a competent legislative candidates; mapping the territory, personnel, and budget; forming successful teams, witnesses, Pokja and Korwil; make the political issues and the campaign props; drafting the concept of the cultured campaign; the preparation of the work programme; and schedule planning visits to the community. 3) Implementation of the political communication strategy of PPP that is make a visit to the community and other parties, and socialization; share campaign props; cultured campaign; embracing the old PPP figures; gave treatment according the characteristics of the community; and conduct coordination to the team success, whereas PPP strategies in winning H. Prabowo Subianto-Ir. H. M. Hatta Rajasa is to maximize the performance of Pokja in each village to implement the strategy have been determined at the central level.
